I qualified as a solicitor in 1983 and  I specialise in helping people to look after their private affairs. For example, I can help you make a Will, and will make sure that you take into account all the relevant tax and other consequences.  I can also help you deal with the assets of someone who has died (usually called obtaining probate) or who has lost mental capacity.

In addition to this I help people to make Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) so that there is someone who can look after your property and run your bank account if you do lose mental capacity in the future.  We never know what the future will bring so I advise everyone to make a LPA while they are in a position to do so.  I have done so and made sure that my family has too.

I know some clients find talking about making a Will a depressing subject but I try to make it a positive experience.  After all, people say that there are only two certainties in life namely death and taxes.

I am a member of the Law Society Private Client section.
